Movie Review: “Amores Perros”

“Amores Perros” is a great film, directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu; this film was made by 2000. The film is Mexican film, which has a lot of different emotions, also is dividing by three different stories, which are connected by a car accident in Mexico City. Amores Perros was nominated for the Academy Award for the best Foreign Language film in 2001 and won the Ariel Award for the best picture from the Mexican Academy of film.

            The first story starts with the characters beside Octavio and Susana. “Octavio and Susana”, starts Gael Garcia Bernal and Vanessa Bauche as the title characters, in the story plot play Susana is sister in law however Octavio is in love her and doesn’t like how his brother Ramiro, treats her. However Susana is also demonstrates to Octavio a potential relationship, which that gives Octavio the chance to think she can run away with him.

Also beside that, Ramiro do bad things too, so then Octavio starts also to fight with his dog coffee and trying to collecting money to run away with Susana, so it was there stared the problem with the car accident. So however Octavio becomes involved in the business of dog fighting so it’s was there his dog was shot during a fight by a rival owner, then Octavio, while being fired, finds himself in a car along with his friend it was trying to take care the dog and the mean time running so it was there had the accident, and Octavio is badly injured.

Second story play “Daniel and Valeria” starts Alvaro Guerrero and Goya Toledo. In the film Daniel is a successful magazine publisher who leaves with the Spanish supermodel Valeria. Unfortunately, Valeria is badly injured in connection with the accident of Octavio’s car, so therefore she cannot available to work as a model. That accident was create many problems for then, but beside that, Daniel and Valeria, also  has a little dog which in the mean time they gives problems too. So for accident the little dog was disappears under the floorboards, in this was in Daniel apartment, so the missing dog it was cause conflicts. So the dad news for Valeria was when the Dr. is forced to amputate her leg, so since her leg was removing she realizes that her life is done to modeling.

Third story play “El Chivo and Maru” starts Emilio Echeverria and Lourdes Echeverria, in the story el chivo was a private school teacher, who had become involving in the Guerrilla movement that gives him to be in jailed for 20 years.

 In the film he was like a homeless, who live with dogs which he rescued, but also he was take care Octavio’s dog which gives problems too because he was kills the rest of the dogs, El chivo has. Also the chivo was trying to meet his daughter whom he believes he was abandoned, who named Maru, and by the time he also it was almost trying to kills the two haft brothers, too, but he was change his mind but he get the money.

The theme, pure much in this film it was violent because the three stories they are about violence. But is good film because has tension may be action and romance. Also have a lot of conflicts, which is great for any film. In my opinion is a great film but is not my favorite, because for me I don’t like violence especially kills animals.

Movie Review: “Blue”

“Blue” The movie starts with a car accident, this film is directed by Krzysztof Kieslowski, with mean character of Juliette Binoche. Which called Julie, the story of these film stars of Julie who loses her husband, an acclaimed European and her daughter in a car accident?  So to summarize this film is important to mention the melodrama how was for Julie since the accident happen.

            In the beginning the film starts with music loud then become slow and Julie beside that she was very romantic, after that she comes down. So after that the music was pause. In the scene Julie was watch someone is fighting, then she was trying to see who was the problem, but she forgotten, the keys then the door was closed. 

            Julie received a called and that person wants to meet her. So that was a young man so he say some to her about her husband, then she was walk at the street then she see a man in the floor and see ask if is ok he was a old man. So after that the man she was meet before on the street ask why you leave from the place. So this a little story about Julie.

            After that she back to her house then she was scare because she see a coupe rats at her house. Then she said her daughter and her husband was dead from the accident, she said was very scare.

            In the film one of the moments of Julie it was so bad was when her husband and daughter have been killed in a car accident, that was the first part the flam plot. And how to see the images, how her husband is burning in from her face, so this was difficult than the emotional one, Julie ends.

            Also in the film the Julie husband had another woman who is pregnant and she asks her if her baby is belonging to her husband. So the character Olivier knows about the other relationship from her husband who was dead.

            The theme we can call like real life, happen. This film pure much involved things can happen at the real families, this story was great because touch a lot of things with emotions and combined with society.

            In my opinion this is a great film, I like the story, and I think this film is the one I can say this is a good film. I think I like very much, hopefully in the future I have chance to watch again I will going to watch again, like over in over so is a great film.

Movie Review “Eat Drink Man Woman"

“Eat Drink Man Woman” is one of the best films and directed by Ang Lee. This film is a Taiwan film which has a lot of different things to summarize. In the beginning the film starts with the character of (Sihung Lung) and his family, who living in Taipei, Taiwan. At the beginning start of the film he lives with his three attractive daughters. The three daughter’s characters are Jia-Jen, the oldest one, a school teacher nursing, Jia-Chien, the middle one, a career woman, Jia Ning, the youngest one.

In the film the oldest daughter who was a school teacher on her characters she, also in the mean time she had a boyfriend. So her boyfriend beside he coaching, he also looking for her between his coach, he was the guy who was drive a motorcycle. In the film the mean character it was chef Chu who was the father and always trying to keep compact their family.

Also as the film is going in progress, the three daughters they are change the family too. Well because they getting boyfriends, and logical then men stars, come home, which their family, also stars growing.  So by the time also the two sisters, there was talked about their mom, how she was death. In the film, also shows the images of the Chu Jia Jen the uncle past away, which tragedian gives more bad moments to their family.

The themes major, of the film are pure much as romantic relationships meaning a lot of different style of life. Such are eating and drinking.  Also shows different images and technique, of gourmet Chinese cuisine. Also in the mean time also shows scenes how Chinese culture can combine love and cuisine.

Another theme is important to add to the review is when Chef Chu having lost his wife, losing also his ability to taste, the food and lose all three daughters to marriage. Another thing is, beside of all conflicts of them Mr. Chu it was a very good example, to keep a compact and traditional family.

In my opinion this film, it’s a great film. This film reflects culture, traditions, food style, and how Chinese live, in their own style of life. I think this film has a lot of credits, to the audience, because shows us how different it’s one culture to another ones. So is important to mention, how this family changes, until the three sisters encounters new men.

Also I want to add, how difficult was for Mr. Chu since his three daughters, had boyfriends and even they have boyfriend he wants to keep at home.  So that way he can may be dominate the family. I really like this film, because pure much it’s similar with my culture, because sometimes that can happened too. So personal I recommended this film to watch is a great film.

Children of Heaven

Movie Review: Children of Heaven

“Children of Heaven” is a great movie which has a lot of Human things. This film involves themes like touch very close you’re hard, and feel different emotions. This film starts with an old man repaired of shoes, were the two characters of Ali and Zahra it was as plot the story. In the story, Ali takes his little sister Zahra’s shoes to the shoemaker to be repair, so it was there where stares Ali, and Zahra decide to keep a secret from their parents, whom are very poor, and knowing that there no money to buy a new pair of shoes.

So there it was when Ali and Zahra start to use the same pair of shoes, so they devised a scheme to share Ali’s sneakers, so in this case Zahra will wear them to school in the morning and hand them off to Ali at midday so in this case he can attend at the afternoon classes. But that was an uncomfortable arrangement because that was an adventure over in over which that caused to Ali many conflicts with their school.

So one day Ali had the chance to participate on a competition to race. Which that competition gives him the chance to participate, but his intention it was to get the third position, but he get the first position, which it was not the position he wants, because his plans it was to get the third one. So even he was wins, the competition he wasn’t happy because his goal was to get the sneakers, so his plan was just to give his sneakers to Zahra, his sister. But unfortunately it wasn’t possible that was the end.

The theme to this movie it was for me like sad because I was felt like personal, well may be this is not happen with myself but I had seen in my pass experience with some of my friends when I was a boy in my country, one of my friends their family it was very poor. So this film touch me very much my hard, and remind me that. This film for sure people have chance to watch they going to experiment emotions like I was felt it.

Again in my opinion this film has a lot of attributions like very human things. For example, when the little, Zahra drops the shoes on the water and beside that she was trying to rich the little shoes, and she can’t catch. On the other hand the old man was take care and finally catches their shoes.

Also another thing when the father Ali and Ali decide to go in the bicycle to find job and do garden staff, which was another adventure, especially when they came back and has the accident with the bicycle. And how sad was to see Ali crying and suffering in his school for no arrived on time. Again this film was touching my hard.

Central Station

Film Review “Central Station”

            “Central Station” I think is a great film which has lot of human being emotions. The film starts and a place like train station, with a woman crying who was comes with her like 8 years old son, named Josue, who her husband left a long ago and lived very faraway place.

            The movie characters were plot on Dora and Josue who play on the film like adoption mom and son, who was sleep on the street. Dora in the beginning she behaved very badly. So to speak about Dora, Dora was an old ex- school teacher and who in the film is a professional letter writer. She writes letters for those who can’t write. So it was there were the film pure much starts, because there was the place when the mother Josue, arrived and trying to write to her husband.  

            Also that place it was the mother of Josue had the accident, and starts one of the first scenes of the movie. So it was there while the boy Josue it was sleep on the street, and Dora was trying to help him. But in the beginning he was refused but after couple time ago, he was accepted, to come to her apartment which while torn in adoption. So there was the film plot. Were the scenes of Dora for couple times she was change, and reasoning her horrible person, to an affective person with Josue. And decide to care Josue to find out his father, who was very hard to found him, which never found, but he found two brothers that was the end.

            Major theme in this film is very much about Josue the boy character, basic he symbolized the traditional family. For example, he always believes his father will be a great man, even he not growing together. The film plays with viewer’s emotions, which shows us dramatics images.

 Also by the mind time Dora in the character of mother adoptive, she in the ending becomes a better person that made a fantastic and interesting film. In the film we can see how measure is the personalities, how we can change, to be a good person or bad. So is important see the differences when human been they can change. For example, this film the characters of Dora and Josue, it was demonstrates to the audience, how human been we can characterize a script writer and comber to a real life.

            I think this film touch me my hard, especially when Josue it was felt bad while her mom has the accident and he was felt along him selves. I think this is a great movie, and easy to interpret. In the film you can find out the different images, which show us the differences emotions. Is important to mention by the end the story it was about the family.

 

 

Totsi - film Review by Edgar Pineda

“Tsotsi” is a great movie which has many things in mind to interpret. In this film in the beginning it starts with raining, with images color dark. The mean characters in the film, it was (David) on the character, Totsi, Miriam and Pumla the mother of the baby.

In the beginning the film Pumla was trying to open the door, in the mean time Totsi arrived to the place, and stole her car which inside in the back seat has the baby. Totsi it was running with the car, after that, Totsi arrived to his house and pull out the baby from the car. He was take care the baby, but he cannot properly care for the baby on his own. After that, the baby started crying. Then he was put music, but the baby needed change of pamper. So Totsi used paper but the baby continues crying. After that a friend Butcher was looking for Totsi, but he was affray because the baby was crying. So Totsi, they don’t want the people know he has the baby.

After that, Totsi fallows a man how was used a chair wells, the old man said to Totsi take my money and leave me along, and ask him why he fallow him. Totsi was trying to scare him and asked him what it’s wrong with his legs. The old man was trying to explain how he broke his legs. After that, Totsi leave from the place, and comes back to the house but the baby still crying, because the baby was very bad.

After that Totsi stared fallows another lady how was named Miriam she has a baby, so Totsio fallows her to her shack and forces at gun point to feed the kid napped child. After that he took back the baby, but after a coupe time late he takes the child to Miriam a second time, then she asks Totsi to leave the baby with her so that she can care for him. After that Totsi decides to return the baby, he was reaches John’s house, and tells John how was the father baby, he will leave the child outside the gate, but the police arrived that was the end.

The theme was very interesting, and polemic, because totsi was took the baby, but, in the mean time he was trying to take care themselves. Totsi mean character was an African young gang leader. But in the mean time, that baby is in the forever changing his life. Also the theme reflects and faced gangs.

My opinion, on the film it was a good film, because the film had images like drama, action, and suspense. Even the film has violence, and difference reactions, because it was a child who was took place, in the scenes. So for me, it was very dramatic to see the images when the baby was crying and had butterflies on the mouth, that was impress to me.
